Field Service Engineer

About the Role
Our client is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our growing service and support team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of critical power systems by handling the commissioning, maintenance, servicing, and repair of various UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems. You will work in environments where reliable power is essential, supporting a diverse range of clients.
This position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage tasks independently. Full product training will be provided to ensure you have the expertise needed to excel in the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out commissioning, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on a range of UPS systems.
- Lead critical power projects and collaborate with internal teams, including sales and operations.
- Provide technical support to customers and assist colleagues where needed.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with company procedures.
- Maintain a professional approach when working with clients, representing the business with confidence and expertise.
- Follow all company and site regulations, ensuring safety and compliance at all times.
- Keep detailed records of service visits, including reports and documentation.
- Offer guidance to customers on maintaining and operating their systems to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Take part in ongoing training to stay up to date with industry advancements.
- Assist with installation projects and equipment replacements as required.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the wider team.
What You Need
- 2-5 years’ experience working with UPS systems or a similar field.
- A relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience.
- Solid understanding of electrical and electronic systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in challenging environments.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and general IT skills.
- A proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A full, clean UK driving license.
